Project Management Intern AEP offers competitive intern compensation based on completed college credit hours. Eligible students who relocate for their internship assignment may also qualify for a housing stipend, providing additional support while gaining valuable industry experience.

You'll gain exposure to project planning, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, project controls, and business operations while contributing to meaningful projects across AEP.
As a Project Management Intern, you may:
Currently pursuing an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Must have completed at least your freshman year. Graduation date of December 2027 or later. Must be at least 18 years old. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment. This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT, or CPT.
3.0 GPA. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Interest in project management, utility operations, business processes, construction, technology, or energy infrastructure. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Demonstrated leadership through academic, extracurricular, or work experiences.
Assignments may take place in office settings, operational facilities, project sites, or construction environments, depending on business needs and internship placement. Interns will gain exposure to the broad range of projects that support AEP's generation, transmission, distribution, and corporate operations.

Compensation Grade: Co-Op/Intern-001 Compensation Range: $ - $
S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
