Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is seeking an on-site Project Services Order Writer in Mason City, IA. You will translate distributor submittals and hardware schedules, then enter order data into Protech and verify accuracy to support manufacturing needs.

You will read blueprints, interpret codes, and work with the engineering team on special requests while assisting customers with technical inquiries and maintaining precise documentation.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hollow metal door and frame industry.

Responsibilities

• Translate distributor approved hollow metal submittals and hardware schedules for completeness and accuracy.
• Enter data into Protech to generate Curries orders and verify data accuracy.
• Interpret and enter hollow metal door & hardware schedules with accuracy.
• Consult engineering on special product requests as needed.
• Advise customers on technical inquiries and communicate with internal teams on discrepancies.
• Review orders and prepare detailed drawings for manufacturing requirements.
• Initiate Direct Order Transfer to Curries workflow.
• Participate in safe and harmonious work environment and comply with policies.

Curries, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is expanding the Project Services Team. This will be an on-site position based out of our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, Iowa.

What would you do as our Project Services Order Writer?

You will translate distributor approved hollow metal submittals and hardware schedules for completeness and accuracy. You will also enter the data into Protech to generate a Curries order and enter the order data into the computer system and review for accuracy.

You would also:

• Interpret and enter hollow metal door & hardware schedules with accuracy.
• Interpret codes, specifications and label requirements.
• Consult the engineering team on special product requests as needed.
• Advise customers on technical inquiries.
• Communicate with customers and internal team members on discrepancies and/or application conflicts.
• Review orders and prepare detailed drawings for manufacturing requirements.
• Initiate “DOT” Direct Order Transfer to our CURRIES workflow.
• Perform special assignments and projects as assigned.
• Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
• Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

The Skills and Experience you need:

• High School or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within the hollow metal door and frame industry.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical information.
• Proficient understanding of commercial door and frame hardware preferred.
• Excellent computer skills such as Word and Excel.
• Excellent math and conceptual skills such as basic geometry, algebra, fractions and metrics.
• Previous experience within the building material, hardware or construction industry and/or a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work 40 plus workweeks, may include Saturday overtime.
