Job summary

Easterseals Redwood is seeking a Part-time Project SEARCH Job Coach to support young adults with disabilities as they transition from school to work. You’ll mentor interns during internships at community sites, providing hands-on coaching, encouragement, and individualized support to build confidence and workplace skills.

As part of a mission-driven team, you’ll help participants identify strengths, explore career paths, and pursue meaningful employment while collaborating with families,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Empower interns to gain independence through hands-on internship experiences.
• Provide individualized coaching and support as participants learn tasks and workplace expectations.
• Help participants identify strengths and explore career interests for meaningful employment.
• Assist interns with resume development, interview prep, and job applications.
• Create opportunities for career exploration via job shadows and community work experiences.
• Collaborate with instructors, families, employers, and partners to support long-term outcomes.
• Teach workplace skills, self-advocacy, and problem-solving for success on and off the job.
• Support participants during interviews, onboarding, and transitions, celebrating progress.

Position Summary

As a Project SEARCH Job Coach, you'll play a vital role in helping young adults with disabilities successfully transition from school to meaningful employment. Working alongside students as they complete internship rotations at a community business site, you'll provide hands‑on coaching, encouragement, and individualized support that helps them build confidence, develop workplace skills, and discover their potential.

Job Responsibilities:

• Empower young adults with disabilities to build confidence, develop workplace skills, and achieve greater independence through real‑world internship experiences.
• Provide individualized coaching, encouragement, and support as participants learn new job tasks and navigate workplace expectations.
• Help participants identify their strengths, explore career interests, and discover pathways to meaningful employment.
• Partner with interns throughout their job search journey, including resume development, interview preparation, and job applications.
• Create opportunities for career exploration through job shadows, informational interviews, and community‑based work experiences.
• Collaborate with instructors, families, employers, and community partners to support participant success and long‑term employment outcomes.
• Teach and reinforce workplace, communication, self‑advocacy, and problem‑solving skills that help participants thrive both on and off the job.
• Support participants during interviews, onboarding, and employment transitions, celebrating progress and encouraging growth every step of the way.
• Build strong relationships with employers to create inclusive workplaces where individuals with disabilities can succeed.
• Document participant progress and outcomes while helping demonstrate the life‑changing impact of the program.
