Job summary

UC San Diego invites applications for Project Scientist, Research Scientist, and Specialist positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full rank in the Division of Infectious Diseases & Global Public Health, Department of Medicine. Successful candidates will lead and contribute to projects, conduct studies, and train students.

Appointment rank will depend on background and experience; position is based in San Diego with on-site duties and UC San Diego salary scales.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, or a PhD or equivalent in synthetic organic chemistry or equivalent in a scientific field.

Responsibilities

• Leading and/or contributing innovative and significant efforts to the project(s)
• Conducting studies and experiments
• Providing on-site training and teaching to students
• Participating in and/or presenting at scientific meetings
• Analyzing and preparing presentations and reports summarizing data
• Writing and/or contributing to scientific reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals for submission and/or publication.
