Job summary

Braun Intertec is seeking a Project Scientist to lead and manage environmental projects, including due diligence, remedial investigation, and response action implementation. Responsibilities include budgeting, client communications, project setup, and directing field staff.

The role involves mentoring junior staff and coordinating with resources to complete project work. The successful candidate will have a 4-year degree in Geology or related fields, 6+ years of relevant experience, OSHA

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Geology, Earth or Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years related experience in environmental assessment, investigations, and remediation.
• OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper.
• Direct experience with Brownfield Programs (VIC, PBP).

Responsibilities

• Lead Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA).
• Lead Phase II ESAs and related soil, vapor and groundwater investigations.
• Perform Brownfield redevelopment remediation and related services.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects.
• Prepare scopes of work, work breakdown structures, and cost proposals.
• Manage projects including direct client communications.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with internal/external resources to complete project work.
• Data evaluation and report preparation.

This role will include budgeting, communication with clients, project set up and management, and directing field staff to complete all aspects of projects including final reporting. This role will include mentoring junior staff and coordinating with various internal and external resources to complete the project work.

Responsibilities

• Conducting and managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
• Conducting and managing Phase II ESAs and related soil, vapor and groundwater contaminant investigations
• Conducting and managing Brownfield redevelopment remediation and related services
• Performing detailed cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects
• Preparing response action plans to facilitate remediation and redevelopment
• Coordinating and directing field personnel and contractor personnel
• Assisting in training new staff in field procedures
• Preparing scopes of work, work breakdown structures, and cost proposals
• Managing projects including direct client communications
• Data evaluation and report preparation

Required Skills

• Ability to read and independently analyze and interpret technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination
• Strong technical writings skills including written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information verbally and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public
• Ability to independently solve practical problems and manage daily project variables
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage and procure client relationships

Required Experience

• 4 year degree in Geology, Earth or Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 6+ years related experience in environmental assessment, investigations, and remediation
• OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper
• Direct experience with Brownfield Programs (VIC, PBP)
