Job summary

Magee Technologies (MTech) specializes in aerostructure solutions and complex systems integrations for defense and commercial customers. The Project Scheduling Analyst supports DoD programs by building and maintaining detailed schedules, performing cost/benefit analyses, and driving on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in project scheduling, project controls, or program management.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project (dependencies, milestones, lead/lag).
  • Experience using Excel for data analysis, PivotTables, charts, and reporting.

Impact Summary:

The Project Scheduling Analyst plays a critical role in supporting complex defense acquisition programs by applying advanced analytical techniques to evaluate project objectives, schedules, budgets, and requirements. This position drives efficiency and success by developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, conducting impact studies and cost/benefit analyses, and tracking milestone progress across engineering, development, integration, testing, sustainment, and installation activities. By ensuring alignment with government processes for documentation and change control, the analyst provides timely insights and actionable recommendations that enhance decision-making, mitigate risks, and ensure the on-time, on-budget delivery of mission-critical systems. Working with minimal supervision, this role bridges technical requirements and program management, directly influencing program performance and operational readiness.

Responsibilities:
  • Team with assigned project leads to assist in managing projects
  • Create and/or update project schedules
  • Convert detailed schedules into simplified schedules for briefing material
  • Obtain project data including, but not limited to, financial and schedule information from project team & update project data in the APSD Management Information System (AMODS)
  • Compile and track information for Engineering Change Requests for projects
  • Create and/or update project financial reports
  • Track project spending & recoveries using project specific charge numbers
  • Analysis of project financial data for funding issues and potential overruns
  • Create and/or update project briefing material and reports
  • Document meeting minutes and track open actions
  • Create and interpret organizational and project schedules
  • Report schedules to branch and division heads
  • Create non-project divisional and branch reports and/or briefing material
  • Create and/or update project risks
  • Assemble and submit workload report to branch head.
Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across multiple teams and communicating technical and project information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Able to manipulate Microsoft Project schedule dependances. Able to create schedules using data from multiple sources and disciplines. Have a working knowledge of schedule durations, linkage types, lead/lag parameters and how they affect a schedule.
  • Able to manipulate Microsoft Excel data and formulas. Able to create and maintain financial records (spreadsheets, graphs, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Professional with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Business, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or another related technical or analytical discipline.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in project scheduling, project controls, program management, financial analysis, business analysis, or a related technical/business environment.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), federal government, defense acquisition, or other government contracting programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules using Microsoft Project, including task dependencies, predecessor/successor relationships, durations, milestones, constraints, lead/lag parameters, and schedule logic.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop schedules using information obtained from multiple data sources, technical disciplines, and project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, charts/graphs, data manipulation, reconciliation, and development of financial or project-management reports.
  • Experience tracking project costs, expenditures, funding, financial status, or other project financial information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to analyze complex project information, identify trends and discrepancies, assess impacts, and communicate findings and recommendations to project leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare concise technical and management-level reports and briefing materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating with project leads, engineers, financial personnel, and organizational leadership.
  • Current US Security Clearance to the level of SECRET strongly desired.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
Salary Information:

The estimated salary range for this position is between $30-$45/hour based on the successful candidates experience, qualifications, skill set, work location, and market conditions. Pay and Benefits are subject to change at any time and may be modified at the discretion of the company.
