Job summary

ReCon Management Services is seeking a Project Scheduler to build and maintain detailed project timelines using Microsoft Project. The role focuses on baseline schedules, critical path analysis, and progress reporting for our client projects in the construction/engineering sector.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of scheduling experience, strong Excel skills, and proficiency with Primavera or similar tools.

Project Scheduler / Microsoft Project Planner Key Responsibilities

A Project Scheduler builds project timelines; tracks progress and manages resources. Key duties include developing baseline schedules, performing critical path analysis, and using Microsoft Project.

Role Overview

• Schedule Creation: Build and maintain detailed project master schedules, milestones, and task dependencies using Microsoft Project.
• Progress Tracking: Monitor ongoing project activities, gather progress updates from team leads, and update baseline timelines.
• Analysis & Reporting: Perform critical path analysis, identify potential scheduling risks or delays, and present clear status reports to management.
• Resource Management: Coordinate resource allocation and workload distributions to prevent team burnout and project bottlenecks.
• Collaboration: Meet regularly with project managers, stakeholders, and external vendors to align on timeline expectations and modifications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Certification: Active Microsoft Project Management a MUST
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis).
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls within a related industry- Helicopter MRO a big plus (e.g., construction, IT, engineering).
• Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, sharp attention to detail, and proven problem‑solving abilities under tight deadlines.

Duties:

• Gather and input data into scheduling software programs.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), with additional specialized training or college course work and at least six (6) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Specific Skills:

• Advanced MS Excel training and knowledge.
• Extensive knowledge with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of field construction and plant maintenance activities,
• Understanding of schedule controls methodology.
• Extensive knowledge of resource monitoring techniques such as CPM networks, plus understanding of construction technology, process systems and structures.
• Able to develop schedule from documentation.
• Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.
• Problem recognition and problem resolution skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Ability to walk on even and uneven surfaces.
• Ability to wear PPE including fire retardant clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, respirator.
• Ability to enter confined spaces.
• Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
• Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
• Ability to use multi‑level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
• Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
• Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.
• Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
