Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Project Scheduler to plan, coordinate, and monitor CPM schedules for heavy civil projects. Based in Burnsville, MN, the role requires travel to project sites across the region and collaboration with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–5 years in CPM scheduling within heavy civil construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in heavy civil construction CPM scheduling.
• Experience on projects based in California; field knowledge of earthwork, concrete structures, foundations, utilities.
• Knowledge of CPM scheduling and Primavera P6 software; ability to create schedules and reports.
• Ability to develop CPM resource loading, Time Impact Analysis, and narrative statements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop CPM schedules for projects, pre-bid evaluations, and preconstruction services.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a scheduling filing system.
• Monitor project timelines and deadlines for CPM schedules and schedule reports.
• Update schedules as project changes occur and identify potential delays.
• Prepare monthly schedule narratives describing progress and impacts.
