Job summary

Garney Construction is hiring a Project Scheduler to develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules from conceptual to final stages, using ASTA Powerproject and established PM methodologies. You will work with project teams and stakeholders to support timely project delivery.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of heavy civil scheduler experience, a bachelor’s degree in construction-related fields, and strong communication and analytical skills to mitigate scheduling risks and drive project

• Advanced knowledge of ASTA Powerproject and project scheduling best practices.
• Ability to interface with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to identify and mitigate scheduling risks on large civil projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage conceptual, bidding, and final schedules for estimating and operations.
• Attend job-site meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to build schedules.
• Create standard and custom graphs/charts for site personnel to monitor progress.
• Maintain a activity-group database with as-built information for future use.
• Prepare Time Impact Analyses for risks to schedule and budget.
• Support baseline schedule submissions for compliance with procedures and contracts.
• Assist with schedule maintenance and change order management.
• Participate in delay issue meetings and suggest recovery methods.
• Prepare monthly schedule status reports for management.

GARNEY

A Project Scheduler position is available at Garney. As a Project Scheduler, you will develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules to support successful and timely project delivery, utilizing your expertise inASTA Powerproject and project management methodologies while collaborating closely with project teams and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Develop and manage conceptual (RFP), bidding (preconstruction), and final project schedules from preliminary and ongoing project information for estimating, preconstruction, and operations departments use
• Attends job site meetings, work and meet with stakeholders, and contact and visit job sites in order to develop the project schedule
• Develops standard and custom graphs and charts for site personnel to manage the project
• Builds and maintains a database of activity groups with as-built information for future use and reference
• Prepares Time Impact Analysis for identified risks to schedule and budget
• Provides support and guidance to ensure the baseline schedule submission is timely, complete, accurate, and in compliance with standard company procedures and the contract
• Assists jobs as needed with schedule maintenance and change order management
• Participates in meetings regarding project delay issues and suggest alternative means and methods of scheduling in order to recover the project's progress as appropriate
• Prepares monthly schedule status report for project management and the Scheduling Manager

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Advanced knowledge of ASTA Powerproject
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering preferred
• 7+ years of heavy civil construction scheduler experience
• Ability to interface and effectively communicate with others
• Proven skill and ability to identify and mitigate scheduling issues for simple and complex construction projects
• Proficient with the generation and maintenance of cost and resource loaded schedules
• Ability to self-prioritize and self-start projects and task work
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Advanced verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
