Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement scheduling best practices.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and statements of work to prepare baseline construction schedules.
  • Monitor multiple project schedules developed and updated by operations staff, providing guidance as needed.
  • Interact with the operations team and represent the company and its partners respectfully to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.
  • Support the development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules with executive management and present to selection committees when required.
  • Use analytics to identify and report on project trends.
  • Effectively cost and manpower load schedules for use during project execution.
  • Evaluate actual construction status relative to the proposed plan and analyze and communicate the impact of schedule changes.
  • Prepare time‑impact analyses per recommended practices and accepted standards.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
  • Develop and deliver specialized planning, scheduling, and other project controls training for the corporate university.
  • Critique, create, and recommend improvements to departmental policies and procedures.

Job description

Project Scheduler – Overview

The Project Scheduler will lead the planning and scheduling efforts on multiple high‑impact projects and will actively contribute to corporate initiatives, including training development and delivery, data analytics, trend identification, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and implement accepted planning and scheduling best practices.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and statements of work to prepare and accept usable baseline construction schedules.
  • Monitor multiple project schedules developed and updated by operations staff, providing guidance as needed.
  • Interact with the operations team and represent the company and its partners respectfully to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.
  • Support the development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules with executive management and present to selection committees when required.
  • Use analytics to identify and report on project trends.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands‑on role that requires frequent standing, navigating uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. It involves lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role also includes desk time in the office for computer work, document review, and meetings.

Work Environment

Significant time is spent on active construction sites, which may involve various weather conditions, loud noise levels, and working in elevated or confined areas with moving mechanical equipment. Occasional office work occurs in a typical office setting with moderate noise.
