Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Project Safety Manager to oversee safety disciplines on the Platte Winner Bridge project in South Dakota. The role focuses on maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with all safety programs and regulatory requirements.

You will lead training, monitor construction activities, collaborate with the safety team and client, assess risks, and support project managers with safety metrics and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial role.
• OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be proactive with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Instill safety as a top priority and maintain a safe work environment.
• Develop and oversee the Project Safety Program and site safety policies.
• Conduct training including new hire orientation and safety meetings.
• Monitor heavy construction work for safety compliance and budget adherence.
• Investigate incidents and provide safety statistics and analysis.
• Collaborate with the regional safety team and client/subcontractors.

Subsequent projects are nationally based.Construction Site Environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
