Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead safety disciplines for the Platte Winner Bridge project in South Dakota and future nationwide work. You will implement the Project Safety Program, develop site safety policies, and train staff including new hires.

Strong leadership and a proactive risk-management approach are essential. The role requires 5+ years in construction safety supervision, OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred, a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, and BCSP

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial role.
• OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
• Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Instill safety as a top priority by monitoring and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including site safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetings.
• Monitor heavy construction work for compliance with safety requirements.
• Monitor budgets and ensure cost control measures are followed.
• Assess risk and investigate incidents; provide safety statistics.
• Assist Project Manager with project setups and client/subcontractor communication.
• Collaborate with regional safety team; perform other duties as assigned.

Subsequent projects are nationally based.Construction Site Environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
