Overview

Reports to: Director of Safety

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Salaried-Exempt

Normal Working Hours – Field: 7 am to 3:30 pm, or Office: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, plus additional hours as required for completing project duties

Position Objective: Oversee project site safety and ensure jobsites are adhering to OSHA standards, Joeris policies, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

1. Actively support the company’s commitment to safety and the Joeris core values.
2. Obtain and track certifications and safety documentation from subcontractors.
3. Provide daily safety inspections of jobsites and follow up/resolve issues.
4. Investigate theft incidents on jobsites and complete theft reports in a timely manner.
5. Audit PPE for proper usage and assist with PPE replacement if necessary.
6. Assist with investigating and documenting accidents and injuries.
7. Meet with trade partners to discuss jobsite layouts, updates, traffic plans, etc.
8. Maintain accident logs for both Joeris employees and subcontractors.
9. Communicate pre-task planning (PTP) with subcontractors and other jobsite personnel.
10. Evaluate safety violations and administer safety citations as needed.
11. Ensure security measures on the jobsite are in place, including fencing and functioning cameras.
12. Support Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents with Toolbox Talks.
13. Organize safety meetings on project sites.
14. Conduct and assist with onsite trainings and orientation.
15. Conduct one-on-one safety training as needed.
16. Conduct safety meetings with Safety Team, subcontractors, project teams, and other personnel.
17. Ensure jobsite signage is maintained, clean, and up to date.
18. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• At least 3 years of commercial construction experience.
• Certifications: OSHA 500, OSHA 510, OSHA 30, fall protection, scaffolding, trench and excavation, electrical, First Aid/CPR/AED, confined space.
• Experience in training team members.
• Ability to remain flexible as tasks change throughout the day.
• Strong understanding of the construction process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable construction software.
