Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1+ years in supply chain, program office, purchasing, engineering, supplier quality, or strategic sourcing.
  • Experience with project management, metrics development, and progress reporting.
  • Experience with subcontract management and/or working with suppliers.
  • Proven track record managing projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication with internal and external leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the identification and execution of supplier action plans for investment and development to expand the supply base.
  • Monitoring program risks, identify roadblocks, and recommend resolutions.
  • Maintaining program documentation, reports, and materials for status updates to leadership.
  • Establishing baselines and tracking initiative performance toward 1+2 by 2028.
  • Developing and implementing program processes, procedures, databases, and communications plans.
  • Coordinating with Program Office, Planning, Materials Management, Operations, Contracts, Estimating, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, and Facilities.
  • Supporting content development for supplier engagements with external organizations including Congressional visits.

Job description

The Supplier Development group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team and drive performance to attain the Navy’s desired 1 COLUMBIA + 2 VIRGINIA annual production rate. The group is responsible for managing the Submarine Industrial Base (SIB) Supplier Development efforts as well as providing cross‑functional support for other supply base initiatives aimed at increasing submarine industrial base capacity and capability to ensure suppliers are able to meet increased production requirements. The chosen individual will support the efforts of a large enterprise team, including EB Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Strategic Sourcing, as well as liaison with subcontractors and the Navy Submarine Industrial Base team. Strong communication, project management, and consensus building skills are required.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the identification and execution of supplier action plans for investment and development to ensure successful expansion of the supply base
  • Monitoring program risks, identify potential roadblocks, and make recommendations for resolution
  • Maintaining program documentation, develop reports, presentations, and other materials to provide status of supply base improvements to stakeholders at all levels including internal and external Senior Leadership
  • Establishing baselines and tracking initiative performance for the successful completion of short and long term goals including SDF Return on Investment as it relates to enterprise goal of 1 + 2 by 2028
  • Developing and implementing program-specific processes, procedures, databases and repositories, and communications plans
  • Continuous interaction and coordination with the Program Office, Planning, Materials Management, Operations, Contracts and Estimating, Engineering, Design-Build, Supplier Quality, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, and Facilities to support enterprise objectives
  • Supporting content development for supply base-related engagements with external organizations including Congressional visits
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelors degree
  • 1+ years of experience in either Supply Chain Management, Program Office, Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and or Strategic Sourcing
  • Proven experience in project management, including metrics development, progress reporting and driving accountability
  • Proven experience with subcontract management and/or working directly with suppliers
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience communicating with internal and external leadership
  • Candidate must have proven ability to work in team environment with a demonstrated ability to foster a culture of teamwork and communications.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in either Supply Chain Management, Program Office, Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and or Strategic Sourcing
  • Knowledge of the Electric Boat supply base, supply chain management, and Integrated Enterprise Plan (IEP)
