Job Summary

Under general supervision by the UC Davis CTSC (Clinical and Translational Science Center) Workforce Development Associate Staff Director and Staff Workforce Development Program Manager, the incumbent will serve as primary staff support for a variety of Staff Workforce Development initiatives. These are primarily the Foundational Skills program, which trains staff, faculty, and trainees on the same principles and approaches to Clinical and Translational Science, and the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Foundations Program, which trains clinical research staff through instruction, hands‑on training, and paid work experience. Each program is groundbreaking and requires analysis, creativity, organization, and responsiveness to a variety of collaborator needs.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
  • CITI Certified within three (3) months of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or four (4) years equivalent experience and training.
  • Experience designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating instructor‑led, virtual, and asynchronous training programs for adult learners.
  • Experience facilitating training sessions, workshops, presentations, and group learning activities for diverse learning audiences.
  • Experience coordinating educational events, workshops, or training programs.
  • Experience working in a clinical research environment (preferably in an academic medical center), including knowledge of clinical research regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GPC), and research operations.
  • Knowledge of common organization- or research‑specific and other computer application programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical / problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Ability to multi‑task with demanding timeframes.

Department Overview

The CTSC was established in 2006 through a $25 million dollar Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) grant by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and continues this funding in a new 7-year award cycle in 2026 totaling $40M. Comprised of several distinct scientific and educational programs, as well as shared resources and clinical facilities, the Center supports investigators across the School of Medicine and the UC Davis Main Campus to promote translational and interdisciplinary research and team science to improve human health. Nationally, the UC Davis CTSC works with NIH and other funded CTSA hubs to develop and disseminate innovative resources and expedite the translation and integration of science from a variety of disciplines into health discoveries and treatments.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
