You will join our multidisciplinary team and work under the guidance of designated project leaders. Projects may include new constructions and renovations across educational, healthcare, corporate, commercial, and science & technology sectors.
- Design and oversee complex ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems in large-scale buildings. Independently handle all Mechanical disciplines, assisting with HVAC designs as needed.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to designers and the engineering team.
- Manage less experienced staff, including developing and presenting annual performance reviews.
- Participate in QA/QC processes and serve as an independent reviewer.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Manage engineering aspects related to Energy Model software.
- Create Revit/BIM models from schematic design through construction, including layouts, sketches, and detailed drawings. Perform Revit/BIM modeling for HVAC systems as needed.
- Select and specify equipment such as water heaters, plumbing fixtures, water softeners, and pumps.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Engage with clients and project teams, attend meetings with a focus on project budgets.
- Lead or participate in value engineering sessions.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance quality, coordination, and efficiency.
- Conduct staff development activities, including work planning, budgeting, and scheduling with the Project Manager.
- Respond to RFIs and review change orders during construction document preparation.
- Visit job sites to verify conditions and monitor construction progress, including physical site walks.
- Represent the company in project activities, lead project teams, and contribute to business development and marketing. May serve on internal or professional committees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- ABET/EAC Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Current PE license in Mechanical or FPE in the U.S.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
- Critical thinking, high analytical skills, and independence in work.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience with engineering design software (Revit, Trane Trace, Trane 3D Plus).
