Job summary

GE Vernova Hydro Power is seeking a Project Planner to manage complex project schedules using Primavera P6 for North America hydro projects. You will coordinate with project leadership, maintain Master/Overall baselines, and ensure alignment with contractual milestones and planning standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of planning and scheduling experience in EPC or similarly complex project environments.
• Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling principles, techniques, and methodologies.
• Strong Primavera P6 proficiency.
• Experience in hydropower, energy, infrastructure, or industrial project execution.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules in Primavera P6 in alignment with project strategy, contractual obligations, and planning standards.
• Prepare and maintain Master Time Schedules (MTS), Overall Time Schedules (OTS), baseline schedules, and periodic planning deliverables.
• Lead regular schedule review and monthly update cycles with project functions and stakeholders.
• Analyze critical path, longest path, float consumption, schedule deviations, and performance trends.
• Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities, and propose mitigation or optimization scenarios.
• Facilitate collaborative planning discussions to align functions on priorities, assumptions, interfaces, and recovery actions.
• Ensure schedules properly reflect contractual milestones, payment milestones, obligations, and key interfaces.
• Prepare project planning reports and schedule inputs for management reviews and customer reporting.
• Support progress measurement, S-curves, KPI tracking, and other time-performance indicators.
• Support baseline freeze activities, change management, rebaseline activities, and committed schedules when required.
• Escalate risks to project float, critical paths, and contractual commitments in a timely and transparent manner.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of planning practices.

We are looking for a Project Planner to join GE Vernova’s Hydro Power North America division. In this role, you will manage project planning for an assigned project, acting as a key coordination partner to project leadership. You will play a pivotal role in project execution by developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated schedules in Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project strategy and contractual commitments. By facilitating cross-functional alignment, performing rigorous critical path analysis, and proactively identifying and mitigating schedule risks, you will support project objectives related to on-time delivery and performance.

Your expertise will be instrumental in improving project execution, maintaining baseline control, and building confidence with our stakeholders through transparent reporting and fact-based recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as PMI-SP, PMP, or AACE-PSP.
• Experience with Lean and Last Planner System.
• Experience with US Government projects.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $88,800.00 and $133,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
