Job summary

Public Works, Rebuild Authority is seeking two experienced Project Managers (Level III) to manage recovery and rebuild capital projects. Candidates must have at least 15 years of PM experience and a professional license or CCM certification. A background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is required.

Strong communication and independent management ability are essential. Experience with disaster recovery or post-disaster rebuild projects is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage recovery and rebuild capital projects from programming through close-out.
• Coordinate feasibility studies, conditions assessments, and construction documents.
• Coordinate interdependent infrastructure systems (roads, water, sewer, stormwater) for integrated functioning.
• Lead project team, client, and community stakeholder meetings; negotiate and prepare change orders.
• Monitor pre-design and construction activities with utilities, permitting agencies, and partner jurisdictions.

Public Works, Rebuild Authority, is seeking two (2) experienced Project Managers (Level III) to assist in managing recovery and rebuild capital projects. Candidates are required to have at least 10 years of experience in managing projects through programming, design, permitting, construction, and close-out.

Candidates are required to possess the following:

• Minimum 15 years (PM III) of project management experience.
• Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
• Education background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
• Ability to develop and control project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of feasibility studies, conditions assessments, and construction documents.
• Ability to coordinate interdependent infrastructure systems including roads, water, sewer, and stormwater so they function together as an integrated network.
• Ability to effectively facilitate project team, client, and community stakeholder meetings.
• Ability to effectively negotiate and prepare change orders.
• Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate pre-design and construction activities with the various project stakeholders, including utilities, permitting agencies, and partner jurisdictions.
• Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to set and manage project expectations.

Preferred:

• Experience with disaster recovery or post-disaster rebuild projects.
• Familiarity with FEMA Public Assistance or Cal OES reimbursement documentation requirements.
