Applied Control Engineering, Inc. (ACE) seeks a Project Manager to lead automation projects from design through commissioning, coordinating teams and interfacing with customers both on-site and in the office.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of control-systems experience, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. ACE offers professional development and opportunities for advancement within a growing engineering services firm.

Qualifications

  • Three+ years of experience with control systems in manufacturing industries.
  • Ability to complete projects according to outline, budget, and schedule.
  • Experience delivering projects to successful conclusions.
  • Understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS and MES technologies.
  • Understanding of process control or other manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to manage a project through its entire lifecycle.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software.

JOB OVERVIEW

As a Project Manager at ACE, you will join a project team delivering automation solutions and projects to customers. Your primary job functions will include:

  • Managing and executing projects from the design phase through system commissioning.
  • Leading project teams in order to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Communicating with customers, both at the office and on-site, to present project status, update key stakeholders, and come up with unique solutions.
  • Meeting with technical leaders, subject matter experts, and business leadership to assess your project’s status and determine the most effective approach for successful completion.
  • Mentoring fellow engineers and project managers to teach project methodologies and control concepts.

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Bachelors (or higher) degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Bioengineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three+ (3+) years of experience with control systems in manufacturing industries.
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to an outline, budget, and schedule.
  • Proven experience in delivering projects to success conclusion.
  • Understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS and MES technologies.
  • Understanding of process control or other manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to handle a project through its entire lifecycle.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills that allow you to communicate complicated concepts both internally and externally.
  • Thorough knowledge of business application software (MS Office package).
  • Displays a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrates a flexible and cooperative working style.
  • Willing to work off-hours when required.
  • Possess a valid and current driver’s license.
  • Means and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.Willing to submit to drug testing and/or background checks as mandated for a) employment, and b) customer contract requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
  • Certifications from Professional Organizations and/or Industry Technology Partners
