Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical is seeking a Project Manager for utility line work across Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, and Iowa.

The role oversees substations, transmission, and distribution projects, manages budgets and schedules, and coordinates subcontractors and material procurement. The project requires at least 5 years in project management, 2 years in substations/transmission/distribution, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management.
• Minimum 2 years experience with substations, transmission line work, or distribution work.
• Knowledge of utility line and substation safety.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Microsoft Project).
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee substations, transmission, and/or distribution projects to meet contractual requirements.
• Develop and manage project budget, financial tracking, and owner billings.
• Develop and maintain the master project schedule.
• Coordinate construction efforts with management and site supervision.
• Administer subcontractors to ensure scope, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Manage material procurement to support the project schedule and budget.
• Provide technical assistance and interpret drawings as required.
• Manage change and ensure quality and productivity of crews.
• Interface with clients and representatives on the project site.
• Travel as required; hybrid work model from home or office within NE, KS, MO, IA or SD.

Job Summary

• Oversee Substations, Transmission, and/or Distribution projects to meet contractual adherence.
• Develop and manage the project budget, financial tracking, and owner billings.
• Develop and maintain the master project schedule.
• Coordinate construction efforts with Management and site supervision.
• Subcontract administration to ensure subcontractors meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manage material procurement to support the project schedule and budget.
• Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
• Responsible for Change Management.
• Manage quality and productivity of crews and ensure efficient use of materials & equipment.
• Interface with clients, AE representatives, and others on the project site.
• Maintain client relationships to foster long term client satisfaction with IESCI.
• Provide feedback to estimating.
• Assist with adherence to the IESCI safety program.
• Travel is required.
• Employee must live or relocate to within NE, KS, MO, IA or SD areas as the position may be a hybrid from home or office.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills and experience utilizing MS Office (EXCEL/Word/Power Point/Microsoft Project).
