Job summary

Keck & Wood Inc is looking for a Project Manager for Water/Wastewater to oversee project management, client relationships, and engineering design work primarily in Duluth, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Civil Engineering, PE certification, and 5-15 years of experience in a similar role, focusing on water and wastewater engineering. As the foremost representative of Keck & Wood to a client, Project Managers are on the leading edge of management, relationship building and mentoring to achieve consistent project successes. Project assignments would include design of public water distribution and sewer collection systems, water storage tanks, booster pump and sewer lift stations, treatment plant improvements, various studies, and other water and wastewater-related projects. The right candidate will have the skills and experience to address the following tasks:

Project Management:

  • Manage scope, schedule, budget and client expectations
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and design staff as needed
  • Prepare monthly invoicing, internal & external progress reports, etc.
  • Build and maintain sufficient work backlog for staff utilization

Relationship Development:

  • Craft proposals which define scope, schedule, labor hours & fees; coordinate with sub-consultants on scope and fee and negotiate fees with clients
  • Research & network with current and prospective clients, identify business opportunities
  • Network with consultants, develop beneficial teaming relationships
  • Attend conferences & actively participate in professional organizations
  • Attend functions and serve on committees with clients
  • Connect with clients through consistent visits and touchpoints
  • Assist clients with unforeseen needs that can help advance projects or initiatives
  • Prepare monthly progress reports
  • Perform annual reviews for assigned staff, set growth goals & objectives
  • Recommend staff pay adjustments and advancements

We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Georgia PE certification required. Additional PE certification in SC and NC desired
  • 5-15 years of experience as a Project Manager in a A/E/C role
  • 5-15+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering projects
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software
  • Experience desirable in one or all of these design types: Water and Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, Sewer Collections, Elevated and Ground Storage Tanks, Pump Stations (Water and Sewer)
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills; ability to thrive on a team
  • Ability to embody our brand by treating clients and employees with courtesy and respect

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional travel to project sites for construction review and contract administration. Fieldwork involves exposure to weather, traffic, and loud noise and requires extensive walking over uneven surfaces and various terrains.
