Job summary

At AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. seeks a Project Manager, Utilities to lead large‑scale utility projects from Rochester NY or Binghamton NY.

You will steer initiation, planning, execution and closing, build detailed work plans, and control scope, schedule, budget and risks in a matrix organization. The role requires a PE license and/or PMP, 5–10 years of program management in utilities (Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro, OSG), and proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in large scale projects Program Management for Utility business.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Professional Engineer License and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (under Client approval).
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the functional area under which it will be contracted: Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro and OSG.

Responsibilities

• Lead Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing of projects with clear WBS, cost baseline and OBS structure.
• Define and manage a comprehensive work plan, schedule, and budget.
• Control risks, scope, schedule and budget; manage changes effectively.
• Lead and coordinate project teams; remove obstacles and drive productivity.
• Implement and oversee Quality and Environmental processes across projects.
• Manage third‑party projects with other transmission owners and interconnecting customers.
• Oversee cost budgeting and financial management; ensure transparent reporting.
• Manage communication, change, and schedule within the program; monitor performance metrics.
• Oversee construction and commissioning management and risk controls.

Job Description Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager, Utilities to join our team in Rochester NY or Binghamton, NY. Your role Effective leadership in a matrix organization. Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing Projects - defining the project WBS, Cost Baseline and OBS structure, initiating the project, building its comprehensive work plan, controlling and managing to the risks, scope, schedule and budget - Managing Teams - facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles, and managing teams. Implementation and Management of Quality and Environmental Process and procedures on all projects focusing on meeting SPI and CPI performance indicators less than 1.0. Management of third-party projects including other transmission owners and interconnecting customers. Accountable and Responsible for : Cost /Budgeting and Management. Communication Management. Change Management. Schedule Management. Construction Management Oversight. Commissioning Management Oversight. Risk Management.

About you

Expected compensation

Expected compensation range is between $105,000 - $133,000 yearly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
