Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably with DoD or federal government programs.
  • Experience managing IT, software development, data, analytics, cybersecurity, or enterprise tech projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to deliver clear status reports and briefings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day execution of USASOC CDAO projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate activities across government personnel, contractors, technical teams, and stakeholders.
  • Track scope, requirements, risks, issues, actions, and decisions through completion.
  • Facilitate meetings, working groups, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Prepare status reports, briefings, dashboards, and executive updates.
  • Monitor performance against schedules and customer requirements.
  • Identify risks and coordinate mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain project documentation and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, software developers, and cybersecurity personnel.

Kentro is hiring for a Journeyman-level Project Manager to support the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) under the EDAT program in Fayetteville, NC. The Project Manager will support the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of data, analytics, application, and technology initiatives across the USASOC CDAO portfolio. This position will work closely with government stakeholders, technical teams, cybersecurity personnel, data professionals, application developers, and program leadership to ensure projects are executed on schedule, within scope, and in accordance with customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT, data, analytics, software development, or enterprise technology projects in a DoD environment and be comfortable coordinating multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Location: Onsite in Fayetteville, NC

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day execution of assigned USASOC CDAO projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate project activities across government personnel, contractors, technical teams, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Track project scope, requirements, risks, issues, action items, and decisions through completion.
  • Facilitate project meetings, working groups, status reviews, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Prepare project status reports, briefings, dashboards, and executive-level updates.
  • Monitor project performance against established schedules, objectives, and customer requirements.
  • Identify schedule, resource, technical, and operational risks and coordinate mitigation strategies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of project documentation, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with data engineers, analysts, software developers, architects, cybersecurity personnel, and other technical resources to support successful project execution.
  • Assist with requirements gathering, documentation, prioritization, and validation.
  • Support Agile and/or traditional project management methodologies as appropriate to the effort.
  • Track project deliverables and ensure products are completed and submitted in accordance with contractual and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate dependencies between projects and identify potential impacts to the broader CDAO portfolio.
  • Support resource planning and provide leadership with visibility into staffing, workload, and project execution.
  • Assist with acquisition, tasking, and coordination of technical resources as required.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is stored in accordance with program and government requirements.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives across the CDAO organization.
  • Perform other project management duties as assigned by program leadership.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: 3+ years of project management experience, preferably supporting DoD, Army, USSOCOM, or other federal government programs.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Experience managing IT, software development, data, analytics, cybersecurity, or enterprise technology projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking milestones, and managing deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver clear project status reports and briefings.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience identifying and tracking project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with government and contractor leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting USASOC, USSOCOM, or Army Special Operations organizations.
  • Experience supporting a Chief Data Officer/Chief Data and Analytics Office, data governance, data analytics, AI/ML, or enterprise data initiatives.
  • PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar project-management/work-tracking platforms.
  • Experience supporting cloud, data platform, application modernization, or enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition, cybersecurity, RMF, and/or federal IT processes.
  • Experience working within classified environments.
  • Familiarity with Army and DoD policies, procedures, and organizational structures.
Clearance Requirement
  • Minimum of active Top Secret clearance required
  • US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card)
