Job summary

HB Trenchless in Austin, TX, is seeking a driven Project Manager to lead trenchless construction and tunneling projects. You will plan, coordinate, and execute initiatives to deliver on time and within budget, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with field crews, engineers, and clients, and driving continuous improvement across large-scale infrastructure projects. Travel to sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of project management experience in trenchless, tunneling, or utility construction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of trenchless construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
• Lead project teams including field crews, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Partner with clients, engineers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to verify progress, safety compliance, and quality of work.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, change orders, and reports.
• Support reporting efforts including progress updates, cost tracking, and timelines.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance operations.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in project management within trenchless, tunneling, or utility construction
• Strong knowledge of trenchless construction methods and underground infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and ownership
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to project sites
