Job summary

Aldridge Electric is seeking a Project Manager for our Transportation team in Des Plaines, IL. You will lead project safety, planning, scheduling, and budgeting, while mentoring staff and coordinating with customers.

Responsibilities include managing subs and vendors, ensuring contractual compliance, and maintaining project records. Travel to sites will be required as needed. This role offers strong growth and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent construction/trade background.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.

  • Conduct performance conversations to set goals and provide feedback.
  • Manage all facets of projects including safety, planning, scheduling, financials, and execution.
  • Monitor project health using project management tools and apply changes as needed.
  • Oversee subcontractors and vendors and manage payments and planning.
  • Serve as primary customer contact and address concerns promptly.
  • Ensure plans meet contractual requirements and foster teamwork on project sites.
  • Visit projects to aid planning and relationship development.
  • Maintain accurate records for all assigned projects.

Aldridge is seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic and energetic Transportation team supporting work in Des Plaines, IL. This role will work collaboratively with the project team to ensure that a quality project is produced safely, on time, and within budget.

What You’ll Do
  • Champion a strong safety culture on assigned projects through proactive leadership and vigilance in identifying and addressing potential safety issues.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and training to direct reports.
  • Host regular performance conversations to set goals, provide feedback, and support the development of direct reports.
  • Using Aldridge’s standard processes and guidelines, manage all facets of assigned projects or assigned project scopes including safety, planning, scheduling, financials, and project execution.
  • Monitor project health using Aldridge’s project management tools.
  • Enact change when required.
  • Manage projects in accordance with Aldridge’s contract with the customer.
  • Own the financial tracking and reporting of assigned projects or assigned project scopes.
  • Monitor billings and cash flow to ensure a positive cash position on all projects.
  • Proactively manage subcontractors and vendors, including safety, work planning, scheduling and payments.
  • Act as a point of contact for communication with the customer on the project. Timely address customer concerns while protecting Aldridge.
  • Ensure there is a plan to meet all contractual requirements for assigned projects.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships and promote effective teamwork amongst Aldridge and our partners.
  • Regularly visit the project site to aid in planning, progress monitoring and internal/external relationship development.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and complete records for all assigned projects.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or other construction-related major, or equivalent construction or trade background
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities and creatively problem solve to formulate viable solutions
  • Ability to travel to job sites as required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excels at time management and prioritization, consistently meeting deadlines
  • Adaptable and willing to embrace new challenges
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace preferred

What We Offer

The annual base pay for this role is between $85,000 - $150,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for a bonus. Aldridge provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes the following:
