Job summary

Hydrogen Group is recruiting on behalf of a major electric utility in Florida. The Project Manager, T&S will oversee transmission and substation programs across Northwest Florida from budget approval through to service and closeout.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 15+ years of leadership experience; PMP certification is preferred. Expect a highly cross-functional team environment with strict safety, schedule and budget management.

Position Summary

Our client is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States and serves millions of customers across Florida. The Project Manager, T&S will manage major transmission and substation projects in Northwest Florida, from budgetary approval through to being placed in service and closed out. You will lead a cross‑functional project team including Engineering, CRE, Siting & Permitting, Legal, Environmental, ISC, Business Services, External Affairs, TSE Construction and T&S Operations to deliver projects to approved budgets and schedules. You will act in the company's best interest in managing all assigned activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Manage project execution from budgetary approval to completion for large, complex T&S major projects
• Lead project teams to meet approved budgets and schedules
• Own safety management across assigned projects
• Manage project schedules and budgets
• Develop project management plans
• Identify and manage project risks
• Handle contract administration
• Deliver project reporting and communications
• Collaborate on T&S Construction on the construction schedule, clearance planning and execution
• Provide monthly budget forecast spend reports
• Produce and submit FERC compliance documentation
• Support final job close out
• Work directly with T&S major project leadership to resolve project challenges

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• 15+ years of experience leading Transmission & Substation or related projects

Knowledge/Skills

• High-level engineering and project management expertise
• Knowledge of FERC compliance requirements
• Strong safety, schedule, budget, risk management and contract administration skills
