Job summary

McCormick Taylor, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager or Lead Traffic Engineer to oversee transportation projects involving planning, analysis, and design.

The role involves leading meetings, presenting technical content, managing schedules and budgets, and mentoring staff. Ideal candidates have a civil engineering degree, a Virginia PE license (or within six months), and 8+ years' experience in traffic engineering, with proficiency in HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Virginia PE license or ability to obtain one within six months.
  • PTOE license is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar position or equivalent working knowledge/experience in the field of traffic engineering.
  • Experience with VDOT design criteria, standards, and procedures.
  • Expertise in traffic engineering design and traffic operations.
  • Hands-on experience with HCS, Synchro, and VISSIM as well as MicroStation.
  • Experience and expertise in project management.
  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.

  • Assist with employee reviews.
  • Perform invoicing, status reports, and related accounting needs and track accounts receivable.
  • Contribute to project and staffing backlog projections.
  • Help promote company fiscal and hiring goals.
