Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Project Manager – Transportation at LJA

Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering projects, including design of traffic signals, timing plans, and traffic control systems for master-planned community traffic needs.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Traffic group, managing engineers and technicians.
  • Develop department standards and guidelines.
  • Drive business development efforts.
A TYPICAL DAY
  • Manage and design traffic signal projects, signal timing and traffic control plans.
  • Work closely with Land Development Division on master-planned community traffic needs.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for Traffic Department.
  • Manage staff of Engineers and Technicians.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the group, including business development activities and project management responsibilities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • PTOE Certification preferred.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years experience in traffic and transportation field.
  • Experience in signal design, timing, intersection improvements, signing/striping, work zones, technology/ITS, traffic simulation/modeling, traffic studies, and roadway safety.
  • Experience completing engineering studies including traffic impact analysis for private clients, signal warrant studies, and traffic management plans.
  • Experience with FDOT and local municipalities.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employees.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
