Job description

Job Title: Project Manager | The Compass Location: Dayton, OH

Who You Are: Managing projects is a little like driving your company carpool group in rush hour traffic... on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend... while it is pouring down rain and your windshield wipers are streaking because something is stuck under the driver-side wiper blade. There are other drivers to watch out for (is that guy eating a sandwich while talking on the cell phone and steering with his elbows?) and traffic updates to monitor so you can try to avoid a major traffic jam. And all the while, people inside the car are talking way too loudly while they fiddle with the radio and change your AC settings. Like a driver trying to navigate in challenging situations you should have great situational awareness and laser-like focus while scanning the road ahead for potential hazards. You cannot always control what is going on inside the car or in the lanes around you, but you can anticipate problems and prepare to react when needed. Through sunny days or thunderstorms, you are always the cool hand at the wheel. The bottom line: You play a key role in our successful delivery of projects. You make sure everyone gets home safe and you are willing to take responsibility for the success of the journey. You understand your team and the short-term steps needed for long-term success. At times it is a thankless job, but your ability to communicate, work well with others, and keep track of a thousand small details is invaluable to the success of the team.

Who We Are: Infinity Labs is an innovation-driven company with world-class expertise in the defense and national security sectors. Infinity provides cutting-edge engineering technologies and solutions, including modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A), research and development (R&D), cyber operational technology, and training. Our extensive project portfolio covers a vast range of physical scales and applications, from materials and components to subsystems, platforms, and systems of systems. We integrate science and systems as part of our overall solutioning approach and we investigate advanced concepts and technologies with disruptive application potential. The sophistication of our work directly reflects the ingenuity and proficiency of our team. Our workforce shapes the future, and our employees are our greatest asset.

What You\u2019ll Do: As part of the Program Management Office (PMO) you will work with our customers and technical subject matter experts to define the scope and schedule of projects. You will manage stakeholder requirements to ensure that project execution aligns with (possibly) changing expectations throughout the process. You will work across teams to ensure personnel are utilized to the best of their ability during and between projects. Finally, you will use your exceptional situational awareness to identify potential risks so that we do not hit a pothole and blow a tire.
