POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Project Manager – Texas Solar

REPORTS TO: SVP - Engineering and Technology

PURPOSE

We are seeking a Utility Scale Project Manager who will be responsible for the execution and delivery of a utility-scale solar project located in Texas. This role manages the project from late-stage development (pre-FID) through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and commercial operation. The Project Manager will be responsible for schedule, budget, safety, quality, contract administration, stakeholder coordination, and overall project execution. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, leadership capability, and experience managing complex utility-scale energy projects.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Development and Execution

• Lead the project through all project lifecycle phases
• Manage project execution from late-stage development through COD (Commercial Operation Date)
• Work with Project Engineer to coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities
• Work with Director of Scheduling to develop and maintain integrated project schedules
• Work with DGC Accounting to manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
• Work with DGC Risk Group to identify and mitigate project risks
• Ensure project compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements
• Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting to management and stakeholders

Engineering and Technical Coordination

• Coordinate with DGC Project Engineer who will be responsible for managing engineering teams, consultants, OEMs, and the EPC contractor
• Participate in technical designs reviews, equipment selections, and construction packages
• Work with DGC Project Engineer to support interconnection and transmission coordination activities
• Review constructability and execution strategies
• Support performance testing and commissioning activities
• Work with DGC Project Engineer to ensure technical compliance with project specifications and industry standards

Construction Management

• Work with DGC Construction Manager and DGC Project Engineer to oversee:
  • Coordination of EPC contractors and field construction activities including construction safety performance
  • Track schedule milestones and construction progress
  • Manage change orders and scope modifications
  • Coordinate outage planning and energization activities
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control requirements are met
  • Participate in site inspections and project meetings

Commercial and Contract Management

• Support contract negotiations and procurement activities
• Work with DGC Project Engineer to administer EPC, equipment supply, and service contracts
• Track project invoicing and payment applications
• Coordinate insurance, warranties, and claims management
• Support financing and lender due diligence activities

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate with Oncor, ERCOT and regulatory agencies, landowners, and contractors
• Support executive presentations and project updates
• Maintain effective communication across cross-functional teams

Safety and Compliance

• Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Support implementation of company safety programs and procedures
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety standards
• Work with DGC Project Engineer and internal compliance teams to ensure adherence to NERC, utility, and regulatory requirements where applicable

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field required
• PMP certification preferred
• MBA or advanced technical degree considered a plus

Experience

• 5-15+ years of project management experience in utility-scale energy infrastructure projects
• Experience managing utility-scale solar or power generation projects
• Experience with EPC contract administration and construction execution
• Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and transmission systems
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar capital projects
• Experience working with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and regulatory agencies preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of utility-scale power generation systems
• Familiarity with substations, transmission interconnections, and high-voltage systems
• Understanding of project scheduling software (Primavera P6)
• Knowledge of project controls, budgeting, and forecasting
• Familiarity with construction management processes and field execution
• Understanding of permitting and environmental compliance requirements
• Familiarity with ERCOT power market structures preferred

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00
