Job summary

Torch Technologies, a leading defense contractor based in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Project Manager – Technical to coordinate customer requirements, manage schedules, and drive agile software development efforts. The role requires DoD-level readiness and a strong background in project management and Scrum practices.

The successful candidate will participate in Scrum ceremonies, maintain documentation, and work closely with developers and testers to deliver releases on time.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business/Engineering.
• 2 years of Project Management experience.
• 1+ years in product owner, scrum master, PM, or equivalent role.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret security clearance.
• Fluency with the Microsoft Office toolset.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development and Scrum principles.
• Ability to create schedules, prioritize and refine a backlog, meet deadlines, maintain pace.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work with Agile developers and testers.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer coordination, including negotiating requirements, deadlines, schedules, and access to information or equipment.
• Regularly brief schedule updates, roadblocks, risks, and other project status information.
• Track deliverables, create long-term schedules, translate requirements and bug reports into meaningful work items, and prioritize the backlog to meet deadlines.
• Attend team Scrum meetings, including standups, sprint planning, and sprint review meetings.
• Identify process- or equipment-related roadblocks and inefficiencies.
• Work with the team to create and distribute release packages for customers.
• Assist with maintaining and updating required project-level documentation.

Project Manager – Technical

As a Project Manager – Technical, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

• Handle customer coordination, including negotiating requirements, deadlines, schedules, and access to necessary information or equipment.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship


• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Business, Engineering, or a related degree or equivalent experience.


• 2 years Project Management experience.


• 1+ years of experience working as a product owner, scrum master, project manager, or in an equivalent role.


• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret security clearance.


• Fluency with the Microsoft Office toolset.


• Solid understanding of Agile software development and Scrum principles.


• Demonstrated ability to create schedules, prioritize and refine a backlog, meet tracked deadlines, and maintain a steady pace of work.


• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


• Ability to work directly with Agile software developers and testers.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working as a product owner, scrum master, project manager, or in an equivalent role.


• Active DoW Secret security clearance.


• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools and services supporting the software development lifecycle.


• Experience using Microsoft Project to create Integrated Master Schedules.
