Job summary

RK&K is seeking a talented Project Manager in Structural Engineering to join our growing team. The role focuses on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects related to transportation, with DOT experience across our service area.

You will manage project staff and sub-consultants, facilitate client meetings, drive QA/QC, and mentor junior engineers while participating in business development to secure future workload.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Ten (10) or more years of bridge design experience.
• Excellent communication skills including proposal development.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural expertise on all project aspects from conceptual to construction documents and administration.
• Serve as Project Manager on structure-related projects.
• Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approvals.
• Direct project staff and sub-consultants.
• Liaise between client and firm.
• Execute QA/QC for design completeness and accuracy.
• Provide engineering judgment within Structural Engineering.
• Train and mentor entry level and junior structural engineers.
• Participate in business development and marketing to secure future workload.

RK&K is seeking a talented Project Manager in Structural Engineering to join our growing team. With an expanding portfolio of exciting projects and new opportunities across our portfolio, now is a great time to be part of our dynamic and forward-moving firm.

As a member of our Structures team, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation and participating in projects across the local state and RK&K's overall service area. You should have DOT experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands‑on experience with bridge design and field operations.

Essential Functions

• Provide structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the project
• Serve as Project Manager on a variety of structure related projects
• Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
• Direct project staff and sub-consultants
• Serve as liaison between client and firm
• Execute QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work
• Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field
• Train, and mentor entry level and junior level structural engineers
• Participate in Business Development and Marketing to secure future clients and workload

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Ten (10) or more years of bridge design experience
• Excellent communication skills including proposal development
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Masters degree in Structural Engineering
