Job summary

APTIM’s Energy Transition team in Texas is seeking a Project Manager, State Energy Programs to lead the launch of HOMES and HEAR programs nationwide. You will develop plans, manage timelines, and coordinate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-impact outcomes.

The right candidate has 4+ years of energy program management, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Project, Planner, Power BI, and SharePoint; hybrid Texas work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, equivalent work or industry experience.
  • 4+ years’ program/project management experience related to energy program management, implementation or administrative oversight.
  • Mastery of Microsoft project management and supporting software (ex. Planner, Project, PowerBI)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and experience with client engagement and coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an energy efficiency team ensuring the planning, administration, and implementation of HOMES and HEAR programs are successfully executed
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timeline, and resource allocation.
  • Manage calendars, meeting agendas, maintain detailed notes, KPI tracking and deliverables.
  • Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Monitor project progress and identify risks or issues that may impact timelines or deliverables.
  • Implement project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, including requirements, specifications, and change requests.

Job description

Job Overview:

This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in Texas.

APTIM’s Energy Transition team is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager, State Energy Programs in Texas to support HOMES and HEAR program implementations. This role will be responsible for project management functions related to the launch of state energy programs across the country. The primary focus of the role is development and ongoing refinement of planning, program launch activities, managing key tasks including development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring project deliverables are met and managing timelines with internal functional teams and external stakeholders. Communication with other internal functional teams is a key responsibility of this position as well as coordination with external partner and client teams. This role may involve direct marketplace engagement with CBO’s, trade allies, state energy offices, utilities, industry organizations and other program partners. This position will report to the Portfolio Director working directly with program teams across the nation.

Location is flexible within Texas as hybrid office/telecommute will be needed for this role.

The Project Manager, State Energy Programs is a versatile individual who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and can effectively communicate technical details to non-technical audiences and stakeholders. In addition to being an outstanding communicator. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. and involve direct engagement with APTIM’s state and local government clients and utilities (regulated and non-regulated). You will be working with others who are passionate about clean energy, energy efficiency, and making a positive impact on the industry.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Work as part of an energy efficiency team ensuring the planning, administration, and implementation of HOMES and HEAR programs are successfully executed
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timeline, and resource allocation.
  • Manage calendars, meeting agendas, maintain detailed notes, KPI tracking and deliverables.

  • Facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentations related to the project for both internal and external team meetings.
  • Understands relationships between work processes and the business.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment within the team and broader organization.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Successful candidate must be located in Texas.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, equivalent work or industry experience.
  • 4+ years’ program/project management experience related to energy program management, implementation or administrative oversight.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment within the team and the broader organization.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Mastery of Microsoft project management and supporting software (ex. Planner, Project, PowerBI)
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team.
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and experience with client engagement and coordination.
  • Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities including report writing and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to manage competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a practical, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Ability to identify and resolve project incentive application issues with customers and trade allies.
  • Tangible and documented operational management experience.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years’ experience in the energy efficiency industry preferred.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency technologies and energy-saving solutions.
  • Experience with multiple project management systems
