Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers is seeking a Project Manager to drive IT, data center, and capital expenditure projects across the assigned region. You will manage scope, schedule, resources, quality, cost, risk, safety, and customer satisfaction to deliver on time and within budget.

You will develop and publish schedules, governance artifacts, and closeout documentation while collaborating with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful outcomes and business continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • PM certification (PMP/ PMI or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience with IT, data center, and facilities-related project management is required or strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer-facing and internal infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and customer requirements are met.
  • Define scope, milestones, schedules, risks, dependencies, resources, and delivery plans with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

Your role at a glance

The Project Manager is responsible for implementing and delivering infrastructure-related requirements for NTT customers and internal stakeholders across the assigned region. This role manages the full lifecycle of IT, data center, and capital expenditure projects, ranging from small and medium deployments to enterprise and select hyperscale initiatives.

The Project Manager independently oversees scope, schedule, resources, quality, cost, risk, safety, customer satisfaction, and business continuity while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. The role provides consistent project governance, documentation, asset management, and closeout processes, while supporting NTT's "Minimum Downtime, Maximum Uptime" operational philosophy.

What we are looking for
  • Lead customer-facing and internal infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring contracted services meet schedule, budget, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Define project scope, objectives, milestones, schedules, risks, dependencies, resource requirements, and delivery plans in coordination with customers, vendors, contractors, technical teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review customer requirements, Basis of Design documents, technical drawings, contractor documentation, method statements, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with specifications, installation standards, health and safety requirements, and business continuity expectations.
  • Coordinate and oversee implementation activities, including procurement, equipment delivery, site work, testing, quality assurance, commissioning, and closeout documentation.
  • Maintain onsite project presence as required to monitor progress, resolve field issues, coordinate stakeholders, and verify installation quality.
  • Identify and manage risks, defects, construction issues, escalations, and change requests; recommend solutions and communicate impacts and decisions to stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and publish project schedules, status reports, Methods of Procedure (MOP's), action logs, as-built records, account documentation, and project artifacts using approved tools such as Microsoft Project and SharePoint.
  • Facilitate project meetings with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to review progress, risks, decisions, and action items.
  • Monitor and report project financial performance, including budgets, costs, procurement requirements, deviations, and policy-compliant tendering and quoting practices.
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness, serviceability, installation quality, and quality assurance requirements support successful project delivery.
  • Conduct site reviews, business case analysis, governance reviews, and recommendations that support decision-making, business benefit realization, and transition to operational ownership.
  • Develop and improve project management frameworks, procedures, standards, and best practices that support operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Support departmental goals, safety compliance, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Share project management knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices to support consistency and development across the Service Operations Project Delivery team.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Working with the Service Operations Regional Manager to establish and implement measurable project delivery KPI's that demonstrate team performance and achievement of objectives.
Reporting
  • Providing regular project delivery and KPI performance updates.
  • Reviewing KPI results with regional teams and escalating concerns to the Service Operations Projects Team Lead.
  • Supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives related to project delivery and asset management performance.
Planning
  • Develop realistic plans, establish goals, align resources with objectives, and coordinate activities across teams.
Problem solving
  • Analyze complex issues, identify root causes, distinguish critical details from nonessential information, and provide recommendations while escalating appropriately.
Managing performance
  • Apply consistent performance standards, address performance concerns objectively, support employee development, and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and operational excellence.
  • Promote standardization, continuous improvement methodologies, and compliance with evolving industry regulations and best practices.
Knowledge & Attributes
  • Working knowledge of IT, data center, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and building infrastructure systems, including retrofit projects in active mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in project management within commercial construction, specialty contracting, or related environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Teams, SharePoint) and Windows platforms.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and Revit; familiarity with Visio and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience writing and reviewing Methods of Procedure (MOPs), technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Knowledge of SSAE 16 and other industry certifications preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Familiarity with Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) or similar continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Health and Safety qualifications preferred.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience, strongly preferred.
  • PMP, PMI, or similar project management certification preferred.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management, Construction Management, or related experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Primarily performs work while seated, with the ability to remain stationary for extended periods and perform close visual work on a computer terminal.
  • Regular movement throughout data centers, facilities, and jobsites, in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite, which may include walking, standing, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, stretching, ascending or descending ladders, and working on raised platforms.
  • Must be able to position self in small spaces as required for inspections, reviews, and project-related activities.
  • Requires manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, peripherals, telephone, two-way radio, and other technical instruments.
  • Able to hear and speak with others in person and through communication devices such as a telephone and two-way radio.
  • Able to lift, carry, move, and handle equipment, hardware, and other objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform work during US business hours and across US time zones as required.

Work conditions & other requirements

  • Work primarily On-site at a data center location.
  • Periodic travel to other NTT GDCA, client, or vendor locations as needed.
  • Travel required up to 10% of time.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and loud noises.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data center.
  • Responsible to carry a cell phone and provide 24 x 7 support as needed.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays.
  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license. Can travel internationally if required.

Occasionally perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection with prior Manager approval.

Compensation Pay Range

This position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. The base salary for this position is $105,500 - $150,700.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
