Job summary

LABUR is partnering with a client to identify a senior Project Manager, Information Security to lead planning, execution, and delivery of security initiatives across the organization.

You will partner with IT, Security Operations, Compliance and business stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery within scope, aligned with security and regulatory requirements. Strong PM discipline and cybersecurity knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in IT or information security, with 3–5 years leading security-focused projects.
• PMP or equivalent certification (PgMP, PRINCE2).
• Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, ServiceNow, Smartsheet).
• Experience with risk management frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2).

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of information security projects, including risk remediation and tool deployments.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resources, and communication strategies; track progress and risks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders; communicate status and decisions clearly to leadership and teams.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across IT, Security, Legal, Compliance, and business units.
• Ensure projects adhere to internal security policies and regulatory requirements (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Support audit activities by providing documentation and updates; prioritize risk mitigation initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement of PM methodologies and security processes.

Overview

LABUR is partnering with a client to identify a senior Project Manager, Information Security to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of security-focused initiatives across the organization. This contract role partners closely with IT, Security Operations, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with security and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong project management discipline, deep familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, and the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of information security projects, including risk remediation, security tool deployments, compliance initiatives, and process improvements
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and communication strategies; track progress, manage risks and dependencies, and escalate issues to ensure successful outcomes
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals, scope, and expectations while communicating status, risks, and decisions clearly to leadership and project teams
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between technical and non-technical teams across IT, Security, Legal, Compliance, and business units
• Ensure projects adhere to internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2
• Support audit and compliance activities by providing documentation, evidence, and project updates; partner with security teams to identify and prioritize risk mitigation initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement of project management methodologies and best practices; identify opportunities to streamline security processes, improve operational efficiency, and support change management for smooth adoption of new tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of experience in IT or information security, with 3-5 years managing security-focused projects
• PMP certification or equivalent (e.g., PgMP, PRINCE2)
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, ServiceNow, or Smartsheet
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2)
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Compensation

$80-$90/hr - Dependent on fit and experience
