Primary Objectives

The primary objective of the Project Manager/Sales Representative is to serve the client exceptionally well from the first conversation through the final walkthrough. This begins with listening carefully, understanding the client’s needs, and having the knowledge to recommend the right solution—not simply making a sale.

This position is the “brain” behind each project. The Project Manager/Sales Representative is responsible for designing the solution, communicating it clearly, paying close attention to every detail, and remaining actively involved throughout the project to ensure the work is completed as promised. Being present on the jobsite, identifying potential concerns, solving problems quickly, and following through on every commitment are critical parts of the role.

The ideal person is honest, professional, organized, punctual, dependable, and highly motivated. They communicate well, remember important details, take ownership of their responsibilities, and continually work to improve themselves and their knowledge. They do what they say they are going to do—and they do it on time.

Above all, they take pride in what they sell and what is installed on a client’s home. Every recommendation should be something they genuinely believe in and would be proud to put on their own home. The client always comes first, and serving them is the central focus of everything we do.

Position Requirements
  • Safely climb ladders and walk on residential and commercial roofs, including steep‑sloped roofing systems.
  • Work comfortably at heights and in changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Inspect roofing systems, recognize potential problems, and thoroughly document findings with photos, measurements, and written notes.
  • Listen carefully to clients, understand their concerns, and recommend solutions that genuinely meet their needs.
  • Use prior sales experience to build trust, clearly explain value, overcome objections, and confidently ask for the sale without using high‑pressure tactics.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of roofing systems, materials, installation methods, warranties, building codes, and company standards.
  • Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, project scopes, and contracts with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Clearly communicate the project design and scope of work to the client, production team, crews, suppliers, and other parties involved.
  • Remain actively involved throughout each project, including attending preconstruction meetings, visiting jobsites, monitoring progress, and completing final walkthroughs.
  • Confirm that the work being completed matches what was sold, designed, and promised to the client.
  • Identify potential problems early, think quickly, and develop practical solutions before small concerns become larger issues.
  • Take ownership of a project from the initial appointment through completion, payment, and warranty delivery.
  • Manage multiple clients, leads, appointments, estimates, and active projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Follow up consistently with leads and clients without requiring repeated reminders.
  • Be computer literate and comfortable using email, calendars, customer relationship management software, estimating programs, photo‑management tools, electronic documents, and basic spreadsheets.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client records, project notes, photos, measurements, and communication history.
  • Professionally market themselves and Montana Roofing Solutions through social media, including sharing project updates, educational content, photos, and videos.
  • Be comfortable representing the company in photos, videos, networking events, and community activities.
  • Communicate professionally and honestly in person, over the phone, through text messages, by email, and on social media.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, vocabulary, and demeanor whenever representing the company.
  • Arrive on time for appointments, meetings, and jobsite visits.
  • Remember important details or maintain an effective system that ensures commitments and project details are never overlooked.
  • Work independently, manage time effectively, and stay motivated without constant supervision.
  • Accept feedback, continually improve, and actively expand their sales, technical, and leadership abilities.
  • Take pride in every project and confidently stand behind the products and solutions being sold.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company vehicle requirements.
  • Always place the client’s experience and best interests at the center of every decision.
