Job description

Project Manager/ Routing and Siting Lead

HDR Engineering is seeking Project Managers/ Routing and Siting Leads to join our team of Environmental and Power Delivery professionals in the North Central Region (CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, ND, SD, WI, WY).

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Lead renewables and substation siting efforts, as well as transmission line routing and siting.
  2. Manage and provide technical leadership on projects, overseeing all aspects of larger, complex projects.
  3. Grow and lead a high-performing team.
  4. Perform routing/siting studies, prepare reports, and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  5. Support client relationships and strategic planning.
  6. Travel approximately 20% of the time.
  7. Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in land acquisition, routing, or environmental planning for linear projects.
  • 8+ years in proposal writing, scope development, and managing complex environmental projects.
  • Experience with state utility regulatory applications and expert witness testimony.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and interact positively with teams.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
