Job Summary
We’re hiring a Project Manager II to lead two concurrent $10M mission critical control projects based in New Albany, OH, while also overseeing several smaller projects in Richmond, VA. You’ll be the primary point of contact for our client and trade partners—owning installation, design coordination, commissioning, and turnover. You’ll lead forecasting, budgeting, planning, scheduling, and team building to deliver on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7+ years total industry experience with significant project-management responsibility delivering $5M–$15M+ controls, MEP, or large-scale construction projects (mission-critical/data center preferred)
- Proven success managing client relationships, installation, design coordination, and commissioning
- PMP, PE, CxA, or similar credential a plus
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery for New Albany projects; provide executive oversight and governance for Richmond projects.
- Serve as on-site owner rep interface; run OAC, risk reviews, and commissioning readiness meetings.
- Own the master plan: develop cost-loaded schedules, two-week look-aheads, and cash-flow forecasts; drive daily execution through install, start-up, and turnover. Excellent field experience and understands the roles of associated trades.
- Protect margin via disciplined change management and rigorous scope control.
- Draft and manage subcontracts; enforce safety, quality, manpower, and documentation standards.
- Coordinate design clarifications and submittals; align field execution with engineering intent.
- Champion QA/QC and commissioning: manage Levels 1–3 and support Level 4/5 as required.
- Build and mentor high-performing teams (project engineers, superintendents, coordinators).
- Shows initiative by seeking out new responsibilities.
- Builds relationships with customers and contractors.
- Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and Office tools.
- Demonstrate the ability to assist other project members during system installation and commissioning.
- Possess and apply strong hands-on mechanical capabilities.
- Understands control system design and how it interfaces with other systems.
- Understands electrical and mechanical system design and how decisions can impact process and safety.
- Practice procedures outlined in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) daily.
- Demonstrate the ability to proof-read all project related documentation.
- Consistently champions safety policies in the office and the field.
- Has an open mind, especially with opposing viewpoints.

- Understands and enforces quality requirements on subcontractors.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Where applicable, directs and oversees junior or subordinate staff members regarding construction, operations, and/or maintenance tasks and assignments at a project site.
Required Skills and Abilities
In addition to Project Manager I skills and abilities:
- Strong understanding of BMS/DDC, electrical, and mechanical systems; hands-on mechanical aptitude helpful during install and commissioning.
- Works independently with minimal guidance from senior staff members.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry PM/scheduling tools (e.g., P6, MS Project).
- Excellent cross-functional influence; persuasive written and verbal communication.
- Sharp risk identification, mitigation, and documentation skills.
- Makes effective decisions based on data, intuition, experience, and judgement.
- Bbalances the need to gather information with the need to make decisions quickly.
- Anticipates and understands the needs, desires, and intentions of others.
- Picks up on verbal and nonverbal cues from others.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify risks.
- As required, expected to be 25-50%.

- Per project requirements.
Work Authorization/Other Requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required.
