Overview
MSA has a new opportunity for a Project Manager - Roadway Construction in our Dubuque, IA office.
This dynamic role involves supporting project teams in various construction services, managing a wide range of complex infrastructure projects, and mentoring field staff to ensure timely project completion.
We seek a candidate with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and contractors. The projects you'll be involved in will make a significant and positive impact on the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
Your Mission:
- Communicate with internal and external clients in support of existing projects and the development of new projects.
- Provide oversight and guidance to less experienced colleagues in the field and provide constructability feedback and guidance to the project design team.
- Regularly interact in a professional manner with the public on project-related issues.
- Perform marketing and business development in partnership with Team Leader, Client Liaisons, and Client Service Managers.
- Assess the scope and capabilities of the project, prepare Project Management Plan, QA/QC Plan, and other plans necessary for successful project completion.
- Communicate via meetings, emails, and other documentation to all stakeholders.
- Lead, oversee, and/or perform construction layout staking services and/or survey layout services.
- Ensure delivery on all commitments, conduct quality reviews, and utilize a process/checklist for closeout.
- Track budget and review invoices.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING
- High School diploma required.
- Associates in Civil, Environmental, or Architectural Engineering Technology or related degree preferred.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience with survey equipment for data collection, layout, and with construction-related services.
- Professional licensure or project management/business/construction management preferred.
- Strong initiative to complete projects on time.
- Proven skills in empathetic communication, crucial conversations, and effective mentoring of the team.
- Top-notch negotiating skills.
- Ability to excel independently and within a team-based environment.
- GIS, CADD, and various proprietary and commercially available software experience required.
- Survey equipment and various field-testing equipment experience required.
