Overview

MSA has a new opportunity for a Project Manager - Roadway Construction in our Dubuque, IA office.

This dynamic role involves supporting project teams in various construction services, managing a wide range of complex infrastructure projects, and mentoring field staff to ensure timely project completion.

We seek a candidate with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and contractors. The projects you'll be involved in will make a significant and positive impact on the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

Your Mission:

  • Communicate with internal and external clients in support of existing projects and the development of new projects.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to less experienced colleagues in the field and provide constructability feedback and guidance to the project design team.
  • Regularly interact in a professional manner with the public on project-related issues.
  • Perform marketing and business development in partnership with Team Leader, Client Liaisons, and Client Service Managers.
  • Assess the scope and capabilities of the project, prepare Project Management Plan, QA/QC Plan, and other plans necessary for successful project completion.
  • Communicate via meetings, emails, and other documentation to all stakeholders.
  • Lead, oversee, and/or perform construction layout staking services and/or survey layout services.
  • Ensure delivery on all commitments, conduct quality reviews, and utilize a process/checklist for closeout.
  • Track budget and review invoices.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING

  • High School diploma required.
  • Associates in Civil, Environmental, or Architectural Engineering Technology or related degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience with survey equipment for data collection, layout, and with construction-related services.
  • Professional licensure or project management/business/construction management preferred.
  • Strong initiative to complete projects on time.
  • Proven skills in empathetic communication, crucial conversations, and effective mentoring of the team.
  • Top-notch negotiating skills.
  • Ability to excel independently and within a team-based environment.
  • GIS, CADD, and various proprietary and commercially available software experience required.
  • Survey equipment and various field-testing equipment experience required.
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future. We are unable to provide or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role.
