Job summary

MPI, located in Chicago, IL, seeks a Project Manager to own retail construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate has 5-8+ years in retail/construction, strong budgeting, contract administration, and excellent communication.

  • Strong understanding of sequencing, budgeting, subcontractor management, and contract administration.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects and teams in fast-paced retail environments.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and construction management software.

  • Oversee project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting, and change order management.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents and subcontractors to maintain project schedules and site productivity.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and consultants.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and reporting processes.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges while maintaining quality and brand standards.
  • Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers, supporting their development.

Job description

The Project Manager will take full ownership of retail construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, overseeing schedules, budgets, subcontractor coordination, and client communication. This individual will work closely with Superintendents, ownership groups, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with brand standards.

My client is a general contractor located in the Chicago, IL. Over the past few years, they have expanded their presence across the Midwest significantly and have become more heavily involved in larger govement/federal projects. They pride themselves on the ability to take on any project type or complexity and deliver quality results. They work on both ground-up and renovation projects in various sectors. Description

Job Offer

We will provide our Project Manager with:

  • Base salary $120,000 - $145,000
