Job description

The Project Manager reports directly to the Director of Project Management.

THE JOB OF PROJECT MANAGER

The Project Manager is a key member of the management of our company. The Project Manager is responsible for a significant number of projects, from the early stage of a proposal to the final close out of a project. The project portfolio ranges from small to large projects. The company is usually a key subcontractor to large construction, environmental consulting and engineering companies. The Project Manager’s performance in managing these projects is key to the success of our clients’ projects and thus of our company.

This requires someone with the desire and the competence to grow with our successful company. Aside from the right qualifications, we look for someone who has the right attitude for a small company: flexibility, initiative, self-starter, and going the extra mile.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 Years experience in project management with an emphasis in wastewater and environmental engineering is a plus.
  • EIT and/or on track for PE certification is a plus.
  • Experience in Dewatering Systems and Water Treatment System Design and/or Environmental Site Remediation is a plus.
  • Groundwater modeling experience is a plus.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations (MA, RI, NH, CT, VT, ME).
  • OSHA 40 Hazwoper and OHSA 10 Construction Safety Training is a plus.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Solutions Development – Provide technical and innovative solutions for water treatment systems by analyzing water quality data and troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Cost estimation and Project Management – Developing project budgets, timelines, and overseeing construction and installation of dewatering and water treatment systems.
  • Prioritization and Resource Management – Communication with operations regarding resource requirements for all projects and effectively using project staff where appropriate to meet client expectations regarding time and budget.
  • Execution Management – Independent oversight of all aspects of the project’s execution. The Project Manager at LRT is not a desk-bound manager: involvement in the field (i.e., site meetings) as well as administrative proficiency is needed.
  • Financial Planning, Monitoring and Billing – Responsibility for financial tracking, and accuracy of input for all project records. Internal approval of project invoices.
  • Project Reporting – Reporting on project progress, internally and externally.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management – Management of clients, contractors, government agencies, and community members by maintaining an overall positive relationship.
  • Revenue Generation – Through projects and relationship management, the Project Manager is expected to generate revenue from project extensions and new projects.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Ambition – The ability and desire to grow with the company. LRT is a young and growth-oriented company. For the right person, that represents a major opportunity to grow with us, and be part of the core of LRT.
  • Team Player – Ability to function well in a young and diverse team. In a small and growing company, we need close coordination, a can-do attitude, and equal respect for all levels of staff.
  • Flexibility – Ability to do whatever is needed. While the Project Manager is a senior position within the company, we do expect a hands-on approach, both in the field and in the office.
  • Client Orientation – Good communicator. Able to get along with the client. Personality that can deal effectively with client problems as well as opportunities.
  • Initiative – Independent thinking, a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Engineering – The ability to come up with complex and innovative solutions. Willing to learn and mentor others.
  • Accuracy – Detail-oriented when it comes to client satisfaction, project and financial detail.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The company pays competitive salaries with discretionary bonuses. The company also provides paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, healthcare, dental and a 401K plan with discretionary profit sharing. This is a full-time, exempt position. This is an in-person position at the company’s main office in Leominster, MA.
