Job summary

Trek Bicycle Corporation in Waterloo, IL is seeking a Project Manager in Product Development to lead multiple initiatives across a global organization. You will partner with Product Managers, Directors, Engineers, and Designers to keep programs on time, within scope, and within budget.

You will develop comprehensive project plans, manage risks, and communicate milestones weekly to stakeholders while aligning with portfolio goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in project management.
  • Engineering background is a plus.
  • PM certifications such as MCPM or PMP are a plus.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams across global regions.

You will partner with Product Managers, Directors, Engineers, and Designers across a global organization, guiding individual projects within a specified category and supporting portfolio planning.As part of a global organization, you will work with team members across different regions, ensuring alignment and effective communication. The ideal candidate will:Successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneouslyDemonstrate strong attention to detail and follow-throughAssist in defining and finalizing project scope and parametersFocus on delivering milestones on time and within budgetDevelop comprehensive project plans and contingency plans as neededKey ResponsibilitiesLong-Term PlanningCollaborate with Product Management and Directors to develop long-term strategic plans for assigned categories.Project PlanningAssist in defining project scope and objectives, engaging all relevant stakeholders.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Develop detailed plans for projectsMonitor project risks and create contingency plans as needed.Leadership & CommunicationManage stakeholder relationships and communicate project plans, weekly updates, changes, and critical milestones.Coordinate globally with product management, forecasting, supply chain, suppliers, engineering, assembly factories, and other cross-functional teams.Report progress and escalate issues to management as necessaryProject PrioritizationKick off and deliver projects on seasonal and strategic timelines.Set launch dates with Product teams aligned to Program Management goals.Process DevelopmentCommunicate process deviations to the Director of Program Management for approval and documentation.Apply lessons learned to continuously improve product development processes.RequirementsPreferred: Experience with project management tools such as Workfront, Microsoft Teams and Agile methodologies.Experience: Minimum of 2 years in project managementBackground: Engineering experience is a plus, but not requiredCertifications: MCPM or PMP a plusSkills: Skilled in project, resource, and portfolio planning, leveraging prioritization and time management to drive successful delivery in fast‑paced environments.Travel: Ability to travel internationally and within the U.S. 1–2 times per yearFlexibility: Availability for evening calls (1–2 nights per week)Trek Benefits:• Flexible and fun company culture• Competitive health care• PPO & HDHP medical plan options, Dental insurance, Vision insurance• Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)• Free life insurance & optional term life insurance• Competitive vacation package• 401(k) with match and Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP)• 12 weeks of maternity leave with 100% pay• Flexible holiday schedule – 10 company holidays• Tuition Reimbursement up to $15,000!
