Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in McKinney, TX to lead safety initiatives, optimize processes, and drive Lean Sigma improvements on a 24/7 operation. You will train teams, analyze CTQ/CTP, and implement sustained process controls using DOE and SPC techniques.

The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing, a technical degree, ability to travel up to 50%, and strong project management and communication skills to collaborate across functions and shift teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ME, EE, IE, CE (MS also considered).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing processes and equipment in continuous operation.
  • Proven track record in design/re-design, installation, operation and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong project management abilities.
  • Proven ability to use DOE and SPC techniques; Six Sigma Green/Black Belt a plus.
  • Able to manage multiple complex tasks and handle pressure daily.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible work schedule to support 24/7 operations.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.

  • Hands-on troubleshooting on the shop floor to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain performance specifications and BOMs for current products.
  • Perform Lean Facilitator duties to sustain lean initiatives.

Team Overview And Responsibilities

  • Achieve results and ensure sustainment of process controls (CTQ’s & CTP”s).
  • Lead and influence teams of diverse individuals at various levels within the organization.
  • Improve yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic business objectives.
  • Develop, document, implement and sustain manufacturing processes and products using appropriate data and statistical tools.
  • Baseline understanding and utilization of control systems and instrumentation used to improve process capabilities.
  • Specification, procurement and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and instrumentation, including capital cost justification and related documentation.
  • Maintain constant presence on the shop floor and provide hands on troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment to drive root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Maintain performance specifications and bills of material for all current products.
  • Perform Lean Facilitator duties as required to implement and sustain lean initiatives throughout your area of responsibility.
Who are we looking for?
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ME, EE, IE, CE and MS (Other technical degrees considered when supported with applicable experience, Manufacturing experience desirable).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Proven track record of results in the design, re-design, installation, operation and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment utilized in a continuous operation.
  • A result driven individual with a proven track record in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Proven ability to use DOE and SPC techniques (Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt experience is a plus).
  • Able to manage and execute multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure daily.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible work schedule to support facility that runs 24 hrs. a day, 7 days week.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years’ wire & cable experience manufacturing of thermoplastic or thermoset conductors.
  • Project management training or certification.
  • Lean Sigma practitioner.
