Job summary

Baker Hughes Company is seeking a Project Manager for Power Systems / IPG to lead complex power generation projects from award to handover. You will manage global teams across engineering, planning, procurement, and construction, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical/electrical/industrial background, 3+ years in project management, and strong customer relationship skills; PMP/PMI credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience on complex industrial projects.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing customer relationships.
• Knowledge of power generation tech and project profitability management is preferred.
• PMP/PMI or equivalent certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end execution of power generation projects in line with contract requirements, scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Lead cross-functional and cross-country teams including engineering, planning, procurement, construction, and finance.
• Identify and mitigate execution, commercial, technical, and supply chain risks to maximize value.
• Serve as primary customer focal point, maintaining proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Identify and negotiate project variations and change orders with customer leadership.
• Own project financials, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Support site execution and commissioning to ensure successful handover.

As a Project Manager for Power Systems / IPG business you will be responsible for the successful execution of complex power generation projects, including mobile and modular power plants, gas turbine installations, cogeneration facilities, and distributed power solutions. You will lead projects from contract award through customer acceptance, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

• Project Leadership: Driving end-to-end execution of power generation projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with contract requirements, scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations.
• Team Coordination: Leading cross-functional and cross-country teams including engineering, planning, procurement, construction, quality, finance, ensuring seamless collaboration and accountability.
• Risk & Compliance: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating execution, commercial, technical, and supply chain risks while driving opportunities to improve project profitability and customer value.
• Customer Interface: Serving as the primary customer focal point throughout project execution, establishing strong relationships and ensuring proactive communication, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
• Change Management: Identifying and executing project variations and change orders, negotiating directly with Customer leadership to maximize value.
• Financial Performance: Owning project financials, driving strong outcomes across cost, margin, and cash flow. Lead forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting activities.
• Site Execution & Commissioning: Supporting construction, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring safe and compliant project execution through successful customer acceptance and handover.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Energy Systems, or related discipline), Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited university.
• An advanced degree (MBA or Master's degree) is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience managing complex industrial, energy, infrastructure, or power generation projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing customer relationships in a challenging project environment.
• Knowledge of power generation technologies, gas turbines, generators, balance of plant systems, or large industrial projects is preferred.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing project profitability, cash collection, and contractual matters.
• Proven ability to manage project risks, stakeholder expectations, and schedule commitments.
• Familiarity with global project management methodologies and execution frameworks; PMP, PMI, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Availability to travel internationally to visit customers or Baker Hughes locations.
