The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of project management experience in water resources engineering, hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and related civil engineering disciplines. You are a technically strong, solutions‑oriented professional who thrives on helping communities and developing cost‑effective, maintainable, and sustainable designs for municipalities, government agencies, and private developers. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to build a long‑term career with Halff, contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects while growing professionally and personally—with potential for future ownership in the firm.

What you will do:

  • Assist in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Support preparation of proposals and RFQs.
  • Manage quality assurance and control analysis to ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations and Halff requirements and comply with recognized standards and codes of practice.
  • Apply technical expertise appropriately by understanding project‑specific standards, criteria, deliverables and best practices.
  • Monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, EITs, and technical staff, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within the project team.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or ABET‑accredited equivalent engineering degree.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas.
  • 5–10 years of experience leading and/or supporting projects including watershed studies, stormwater master plans, H&H modeling, and drainage support for public works, transportation and land development projects.
  • Good technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management, administration, and supervision, with a focus on quality, integrity and success.
  • Technical experience with water resources software such as HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, ArcGIS, and/or CADD.
  • Experience with 2D modeling software packages is beneficial but not required.
  • Established client relationships in Central Texas is a plus.
  • CFM (Certified Floodplain Manager) is preferred.
Benefits

  • Long‑term and short‑term disability insurance
  • Paid time off (PTO) and 8 company paid holidays (and Veterans' Day for our veterans)
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) plans
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • 529 College Savings Plan
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSA)
  • Employee Assistance Plan
