Salary:

Reports To: Senior Project Manager

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage, lead, and oversee all team activities, including production documents, client management, internal team management, and project financials.
  • Develop project timelines, including phases, completion dates, milestones, workflows, and project plans.
  • Prepare contracts and proposals, establish scope of work, schedules, and fees; submit proposals after review; participate in new project interviews.
  • Lead project kickoff and closeout meetings; coordinate with internal team members and external design partners.
  • Serve as the primary client contact to understand goals, ensure design meets their needs, and represent the client in meetings.
  • Monitor project health by reviewing plans, design, budgets, billings, schedules, and progress; resolve issues; coordinate activities; course correct as needed.
  • Delegate tasks, provide clear instructions, and establish deadlines; collaborate with external teams to achieve project goals.
  • Manage invoices, change orders, and additional services.
  • Oversee permit processes and coordinate with review authorities; ensure quality assurance and control; manage project resources.
  • Oversee technical engineering components of projects.
  • Develop staff, align strengths with tasks, identify obstacles, and perform reviews to increase team effectiveness.
  • Balance staffing and workload; monitor adherence to standards; participate in hiring and performance reviews; mentor team members.
  • Ensure accurate timecard management.
  • Develop new business, maintain client relationships; aim for 25% new projects, 75% repeat clients.
  • Communicate effectively internally and externally; participate in strategic initiatives; evaluate practices for improvement; represent EPS at industry events.
  • Perform other duties; achieve 60-70% billable utilization; manage projects ranging from $500k to $1.8M with 4-8 staff members.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's in civil, environmental, or related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in land development projects with proven success.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Pipe Networks.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence skills; ability to monitor project progress financially and schedule-wise; promote teamwork; strong understanding of civil engineering design and approvals; highly organized; capable of delegating and prioritizing.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, sit; visit project sites; hear adequately; lift 40 lbs occasionally; sit for prolonged periods; manual dexterity for computer operation; noise levels typical of an office environment.
