Job summary

Keeley Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead our Self-Perform Paving Group in Phoenix, AZ. You will develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and field operations to deliver on contract requirements.

This role requires 3+ years of project management experience, a engineering or CM degree or equivalent, and strong leadership and communication skills. On-site work with a focus on safety and quality, client communication, and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience; asphalt paving preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; PM tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams for timely delivery.
• Ensure safety protocols and promote a safety culture on all sites.
• Oversee quality control, including inspections, documentation, and corrective actions.
• Serve as primary client contact, providing updates and resolving issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align expectations and support project success.
• Maintain responsibility for project financials: budget, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
• Identify risks, mitigate, and resolve field or project challenges affecting scope, schedule, cost, or quality.
• Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead project meetings, document actions, and report progress to management.
• Coordinate and support field operations onsite and guide field crews.
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and closeout deliverables.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost calculations, and cost database maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to meet production and contract requirements.
• Manage project coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, labor, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies; promote a culture of safety on all job sites.
• Oversee quality control activities, including jobsite inspections, documentation, and corrective actions as needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates, resolving issues, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and internal leadership to align expectations and support project success.
• Maintain responsibility for project financial performance, including budget development, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve field or project challenges impacting scope, schedule, cost, or quality.
• Drive process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project execution and outcomes.
• Lead and participate in project meetings, documenting action items, follow-ups, and reporting progress to management.
• Coordinate and support field operations by working onsite as needed and providing direction to field crews and staff.
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate and complete, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, production reports, and closeout deliverables.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost calculations, historical cost analysis, subcontractor and supplier quote comparisons, risk identification, cost database maintenance, and review of project plans and specifications using estimating tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience required. Background in asphalt paving preferred.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management and scheduling tools preferred.
