Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Transit Project Manager to shape transportation systems in Northern California. The role involves managing capital design and construction projects across Trackwork, stations, traction power, and other safety-focused upgrades.

The position requires a PE license, 10 years of related experience, and 5+ years in project management. Strong leadership and business development skills are essential within HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience; Access is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.

  • Manage capital program engineering design and construction projects from conceptual design through completion; project areas may include Trackwork, station improvements, traction power and electrical systems, automated fare collection, and other tasks as needed for state‑of‑good repair.
  • Perform construction project management duties; prepare cost estimates, monitor project schedules and budgets, conduct field inspections as required, and monitor work in progress.
  • Ensure that the proactive project management system plans, organizes, controls, and evaluates all work.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Implement, monitor, and support company policy.
  • Work with multidiscipline teams and manage technical personnel.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
