Responsibilities




We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager (Non-IT). The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on project management experience, with demonstrated success managing complex projects involving multidisciplinary technical teams or trades.

The Project Manager will work closely with technical staff, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This role requires travel (minimum 30% travel) to worksite locations across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management

    Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Create and manage a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to clearly define project deliverables, activities, and milestones.
  • Define project deliverables, milestones, and success criteria with a focus on milestone-based execution.
  • Identify and plan for the critical success factors of both the customer and the project to ensure alignment with goals and expectations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges.

Team Coordination and Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Provide leadership to ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Monitor and control project budgets, tracking costs and addressing variances proactively.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project objectives are met efficiently.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, including status updates, performance metrics, and post-project evaluations.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure clarity and professionalism in all interactions.

On-Site Supervision and Travel

  • Travel to worksites across the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. areas to oversee project execution and ensure compliance with plans.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to safety standards.





Qualifications




  • At least 5 years of proven experience as a Project Manager (Non-IT), preferably managing engineering or facility/vertical construction projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Intermediate to advance-level proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, engineering principles, and trade disciplines.
  • Expertise in developing and managing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage the critical success factors for both the customer and the project.

Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing projects in vertical construction, facility upgrades, or infrastructure development.
  • Proven ability to work with technical teams and trades across multiple disciplines.
  • Familiarity with regional regulations and permitting processes in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Other Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites (minimum 30% travel).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to access multiple locations in the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. areas.
