Project Manager, New Installation (NI)
As a Project Manager, you will lead full‑cycle project management of high‑quality, financially successful new installations. You will collaborate with sales representatives, field superintendents, and customers to meet specifications and resolve technical issues, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Oversee new installation projects to ensure efficient, profitable close‑out.
- Provide approved submittals and ensure timely delivery of materials from vendors.
- Collaborate with field superintendents to monitor job progress and address potential delays with action plans.
- Partner with engineering and local & regional management for successful completion of the project.
- Maintain vendor relationships and assist with monthly forecasting and budget planning.
- Identify change notice opportunities, prepare paperwork, and secure customer approvals before work begins.
- Manage project revenue, size, and adherence to fulfillment guidelines.
- Ensure timely invoicing, targeting 90% payment prior to elevator turnover.
- Establish and maintain critical customer relationships to support project success.
- Submit certified payroll in accordance with prevailing wage laws.
- Ensure compliance with customer and Schindler requirements for quality, performance, and passenger safety.
What you will learn
- Knowledge of Schindler's products, services and fulfillment standards through live classroom trainings, field experience, and self‑study learning platforms.
- Participation in a three‑day in‑person onboarding training focused on New Installation (NI) tools and processes.
- One‑on‑one mentorship to enhance skills and accelerate understanding of the business.
- Hands‑on experience with project management software and organizational tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
Preferred
- Experience in the construction, elevator or related building systems industry.
- Familiarity with SAP, Lotus Notes, and project management software such as Procore.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Strong financial acumen.
